Can we get married there?
Certainly! Our gardens are gorgeous and provide a lovely, intimate setting for a wedding ceremony. Some people have their ceremony in the front yard using the front walk as the traditional center aisle, others get married in the side yard between the grape arbors facing any of the four directions, or in the gazebo. Approximately half the people who have their wedding receptions at Haywood Hall also have their ceremony here!

How many people will Haywood Hall accommodate?

The maximum capacity for the entire property is 150. Approximately 90 -100 people will fit inside the house and on the back porch.

Where is the parking?
There is limited parking in the front of the house and there is a large State parking lot behind the house which is available during the week, in the evenings, after 5 p.m. and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Are beer, wine and liquor allowed?
Yes. You must have a permit (which often the caterer will provide.) If your caterer does not provide the license, you are responsible for contacting the ABC, obtaining the permit and bringing it to the House on the day you have rented Haywood Hall.

What about red wine?

Yes, red wine is permitted.
Do you have specific hours when the event can occur?
Loud music/noises outside must stop by ll:00 p.m., which is a City Ordinance. You can generally pick any 8 hours of the day for your function; however, we expect that most events will be over by midnight or before.

Do you allow tents and dance floors?
Yes, but all rental equipment must be delivered and removed on the same day.

Do you permit dancing?

Yes – outside only. Some people use the brick patio for dancing and others bring in a dance floor to put on the grounds. Some people bring in a DJ and others, a band.

Will someone be there during our function if we have problems?
Yes, the resident manager or a designee will be here to unlock the house, answer any questions while you are at Haywood Hall, and to lock the house when you leave.

When can we see the property?
The gardens are public and are available any time except when a function is in progress in the yard. You can see the inside of the house any Thursday from March-December when we are open as a museum (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). If that is not convenient, we also show the house by appointment. Please call the Resident Manager to set up an appointment.

Is there a place for us to change our clothes?

Yes, there are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bathrooms. You are welcome to change your clothes, but please, no showers or baths.
Do you have tables and chairs we can use?
The inside of the house is fully furnished with Victorian style furniture, and you are certainly welcome to use those tables and chairs. If you need tables and chairs outside, please arrange to rent them.
